American Society of Military Comptrollers (ASMC) is a non-profit educational and professional organization for persons, military and civilian, involved in the overall field of military comptrollership. Our mission is to promote education, training, and professional development in all aspects of military comptrollership. We offer scholarships for all Tidewater Virginia high school seniors and grants for our ASMC chapter members and their dependents.
Each year the Hampton Roads Chapter offers scholarships to recognize outstanding graduating high school seniors for academic achievement and to provide financial assistance to seniors planning to pursue a baccalaureate degree with a major in a financial/resource management –related field (e.g., business administration, economics, public administration, accounting, and finance). The 2015-2016 school year scholarship packages have been mailed to all area high schools. In June at our Annual meeting, the Hampton Roads Chapter will award three scholarships: $1,500 first place, $1,000 second place, and $500 third place. The first place winner will then have the opportunity to compete in the ASMC National Scholarship program for one of several scholarships. Interested high school seniors should contact their guidance counselor for additional information and scholarship application forms.
Completed application including transcripts, an essay, and two letters of recommendation should be mailed to ASMC, Hampton Roads Chapter, P.O. Box 1452, Portsmouth, VA 23705. Applications must be postmarked no later than March 11, 2016 to be considered.
If you have any questions, please contact Ms. June S. Wynn, Scholarship Committee Chair, at (757) 396-2962.
